Parent’s Code of Conduct

  • I will learn and uphold the rules of the game and the policies of the club.
  • I will be a positive role model for my child by always displaying good sportsmanship, respect and courtesy. I will encourage good sportsmanship and fair play from my child.
  • I will set an example for my child by being humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
  • I will applaud the good plays of both teams. I will never engage in booing or taunting. I will not disturb other spectators with my actions or behavior.
  • I will respect the referees, coaches and game/club officials and their authority during every game. I will never dispute, challenge, question or argue any call, nor confront any referee, coach or club official on the field.
  • I will communicate with and fully support my child’s coach. I will address any questions, concerns or problems with the coach at an appropriate time and place.
  • I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during a game or practice unless I am an official coach of the team.
  • I understand that the game of soccer is a team sport and I will teach my child that teamwork and being a team player are more important than individual achievements.
  • I will always praise my child for playing a good game and will make my child feel like a winner every time.
  • I will teach my child that playing fair, trying hard and doing one’s best are more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.
  • I will never criticize, ridicule or yell at my child, or another player, for making a mistake or losing a competition. I will not tolerate any physical or verbal abuse in youth sports.
  • I will never swear, use profanity or make obscene gestures, or engage in any inappropriate behavior or conduct, at any time.
  • I understand that I have a responsibility to immediately inform a club officer if a coach does or says anything inappropriate in the presence of my child, or any other players.
  • I will demand a sports environment that is free from drugs, alcohol and tobacco and will refrain from their use at all games, exhibitions, practices and events. I will never attend a game, practice or event if I am under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • I will not smoke at the soccer fields.
  • I will do my part to keep the soccer fields clean and litter-free. I will put all papers, trash and litter in the proper receptacles and encourage my child to do the same.
  • I will not force my child to participate in sports, remembering that children participate in sports to have fun and that the game is for the children – not the adults.
  • I will never allow sports or any other activities to interfere with my child’s schoolwork or pursuit of an education. I will encourage my child to always do his/her best in school.
